Around Knowledge started its activity in 2009, having passed through INSerralves, the incubator of Fundação Serralves, one of the most recognized and respected institutions of arts and culture in Portugal and across borders.

Subsequently, and due to its high expansion and growing, Around Knowledge began to develop its work in Porto, in it’s own office.

Around Knowledge has won several awards and recognitions since it’s formation. The most notable was the ISCTE/MIT Portugal Venture Competition, sponsored by ISCTE, in partnership with the MIT Deshpande Center for Innovation, the Sloan Business School and Caixa Capital, with BIPS project. Recently Around Knowledge won the GSI - Accelerators Startup Challenge 2011, allowing access to the Plug & Play Tech Center in Silicon Valley, USA.

Around Knowledge invests on research and on the use of state of the art technology, having at its disposal a multidisciplinary team, with proven experience in research activities.

Around Knowledge has been created in 2009 by three university researchers with the main purpose of establishing a bridge between the academic and business world.

This dynamic and creative team acts in the development of various projects with focus on the BIPS Technology but also on web design and mobile application development for Android and iPhone.
